As salaamu ‘alaikum Sis,

you know, I have some of those huge needles and
I find it so hard to hold them now that I’ve
gotten used to small needles. They make a fast
project, don’t they?

And I really like the way the urban knitting
looks. I think I read that it’s been done in
Toronto but I haven’t seen it myself.

As salaamu ‘alaikum Sis,

It looks a lot like the abacus (soroban)
math that my daughter does with UCMAS.

Once you get started, the really complicated
math is done in no time!

It is very challenging! At this point, we do the best we can on our own after some tutoring from various sources. We also do what we can at home through sofware programs and online help. Please make du’a for us, insha Allah.

Just wanted to ask you a question. Since you are both converts how do you learn Quran? In my mosque they won’t teach adults only kids.
