Homeschool Canoeing Paddle

This event had been planned for over a month so the girls were anxiously anticipating this field trip. Only Hannah, Jamilah, and Jennah were able to participate as the younger children needed an adult to accompany them and I had to stay with Isa.

We ended up exploring the waterfront area before heading to the playground while the others were enjoying their paddle. Their paddling skills have much improved over the last couple of years. I love that they are so much better than me at canoeing and camping. Seriously.

To add to the excitement of canoeing, a fellow Muslim homeschooler and her family showed up as well. This girl is also in our Girl Scout troop. Everyone was so happy to just be with each other. Sadly, we live about 45 minutes away from one another. Hopefully, this friendship will flourish and we can continue to meet up from time to time.

It turned out to be a gorgeous day in RVA and I am grateful the trip went well.

It’s so uplifting when you get a day like that, maashAllah.

  2. I wish I could have been there.
