Back in October our Girl Scout troop was encouraged to learn about the watersheds we live in and create posters to enter into a contest which would help educate others about watershed issues.
Well, everyone who participated in the contest earned a badge and certificate. Hannah and Siddiqah actually won their grade categories for our county. We were invited to an annual appreciation assemblage where they were awarded prizes of bookstore gift cards and beautifully framed certificates.
We were very proud of the girls and grateful that they were able to represent the Muslims in such a positive way.
I was also very excited to attend as you all know that environmental issues are right up my alley. I was able to scout out about other environmental educational opportunities for my children as well. It was also wonderful to know that we live in a county that has so many innovative ideas for improving the environment and contains so many people who care about making the world a better place.
